Ever so often you bump into “Women Warriors”; fearless, passionate, tenacious women who fight the odds to not just survive but make a difference. Unwavering in her beliefs, and willing to go the extra mile; Victoria is one such woman in my tribe.
A few years back on a whim I ventured into Victoria’s spin studio, it turned out to be a transformative coincidence in my life. Every week my husband and I are scheduling our calendars to make it to Victoria’s spin class; which undeniably provides a great workout, arguably plays the best music and her witty comments make sure we don’t slacken out. I have made some life-lasting friendships and last but not the least it keeps me physically fit and mentally invigorated.
On a recent coffee with Victoria, we talked about her journey to this point. “I always knew what I wanted since a very young age. Hard work and honesty are my principles even when the going gets tough, and the outcome isn’t what I expect it to be.” Having survived a troubled marriage and then landing in California with just a suitcase and her dog, Victoria has a lot to be proud of. “I didn’t know many people here and was lonely for a long time.” Looking back I often wonder how I endured teaching multiple classes on any given day in studios across the bay.” Eventually, with a small loan in 2013, she set up her own studio in Los Altos. Momentum Spin just celebrated its 5th year anniversary.
Victoria grew up in Buenos Aires, a very happening and modish city. Her persona, sense of style, and a pragmatic attitude is indeed a reflection of her cosmopolitan self. Fashion to her is “a reflection of your current state of mind, some days I am more put together than others. I do believe that if you are at ease in the clothes you wear, you feel a lot more confident.”
“Weekends are spending time with my fiance Jeffrey and our puppy Max. Working out together, going out to dinner with friends, catching a movie, planning our wedding :). “If I ever have a daughter, I would tell her to always believe in herself and to DREAM BIG. Everything is possible.”
I cannot wait to see what the future beholds for her. “You gotta have your tribe!” she says. “People that have unwavering trust in you, that will support you when you need them the most and will cheer you when you succeed. I want to keep growing, learning, evolving and helping my community bond even further. We make each other stronger.” Seems to be her Mantra and I couldn’t agree more with her.
