An afternoon with Hillary Frank.

As Head of Community and Marketing at CRV – a Silicon Valley Venture capital firm, Hillary is focused on building a dynamic, robust Silicon Valley community that supports both CRV and their portfolio companies along the way.
When I first met Hillary at our kid’s school with her three darling kids in tow; vibrant, energetic, dynamic are some words that came to my mind. As I got to know her more, I realized the actual depth and breadth of her sphere.
An Individualist in her right, fashion to her is “an individual expression of who you are at that moment. I love styles that evolve with time and are a true reflection of your style, inspiration, and personality.”
Relationships, creativity, and adventures are the core of her values. She is a big believer in staying true to one’s roots, learning from the past and applying those lessons to what lies ahead, “There’s something to learn from every experience in life,” she says. Growing up in an incredibly supportive household, she was always encouraged to forge her path. Hillary mentors her daughter to be open to new adventures and be true to oneself. “It’s a big, wide world out there, so take it all in,” she explains.
Her weekends are spent recharging, having family time, cheering her kids at soccer or baseball games, hosting events for her community, having friends over for a casual dinner, or going on exciting adventures with her family. As Hillary says, “Full weekends are the best weekends!”
In her own words, she reveals what it means to be a woman in today’s world. She describes it as, “being a warrior for continuous change and empowerment. Countless outstanding women have fought hard for very long to offer us the amazing opportunities we have today. I am grateful for those that have laid the path but know that there is still much to be done. I want to do everything possible so that future generations have genuine empowerment and equality. The best ally we have is each other.”
As we enjoy our afternoon tea and wrap up a relaxed photoshoot with her, we summarize our conversation, “We must remember that we all have a voice and that our future is dependent on using it wisely, ” she concludes.
Hillary lives in Los Altos, CA with her husband and is a mom to three kids. This February we celebrate her enthusiasm.
